Humble Beginnings

Founded in 1997 by Ned Townsend (pictured here), The Nantucket Shrimp Company was little more than a concession stand at the Massachusetts State Fair, and its only product was the classic Shrimp Cider. Ned, and all his customers, quickly realized how popular the frothy beverage could be. The next year, the crew increased from just one, Ned, to over 20! Needless to say, this was the start of a very lucrative enterprise.

The Nantucket Shrimp Company Today

With over 25 restaurants located all across the east coast, it's not hard to stumble upon a Nantucket Shrimp Company. While primary sales take place in that venue, some products are now being offered here, over the internet. This brings the opportunity for everyone to try our sensational delights.

Our Mission

Over the next few years, Ned, and the Nantucket Shrimp Company, hopes to spread yet more restaurants across the United States. Projected for late 2005, two locations will open on the west coast, in San Francisco and Seattle. Look out for one coming to your home town soon!
